Meatball & Pesto Bread Pizza

I think I’ve really got this bread pizza thing down. And by that I mean I feel confident that I won’t mess it up while making it for someone else.

I actually forgot about the spinach which is why I ended up spreading it across the bottom of the plate. I think it actually worked very well, nevertheless. I guess bread pizza is a great alternative to a normal pizza when you’re just trying to put something together quickly. I think pizza dough or french bread would work a lot better though. It just needs that crunch that normal slices of bread don’t seem to bring out. I shall look up a pizza dough recipe or maybe just buy that small bag of dough for about a dollar fifty I saw at Trader Joe’s. I’ll buy some french bread after I finish off this loaf of oat and nut bread that I’ve had in my freezer since the beginning of the semester.

No measurements for the ingredients, but it’s not like you’re baking a cake where the ingredients need to be exact. Just put whatever amount feels suitable for you.

Meatball & Pesto Bread Pizza

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Slice meatballs in half and cook fully with mushrooms. Set aside.
  2. Add some olive oil and garlic powder on bread and grill on the pan until one side is toasted. Then flip the bread and add a slice of cheese while the other side is toasting on the pan.
  3. Lower the heat so the bread doesn’t burn while you’re adding the ingredients on top.
  4. Spread the tomato sauce and pesto sauce over the top of the cheese.
  5. Dust a little red cayenne pepper for added spiciness.
  6. Add mushrooms and meatballs on top.
  7. Sprinkle black pepper and mint leaves on top.
  8. Over the bottom of the plate with baby spinach leaves. Move the bread pizza on top.
