I’ve made french toast plenty of times, but I have never tried making it with french bread before. They were overall more visually appealing and the taste was pretty great as well.
I didn’t measure anything out and just used one egg, milk, flour, and cinnamon. You can refer back to my official french toast recipe here if you’re looking for an exact one.
I probably needed to soak them a bit longer and perhaps bake them a bit afterwards, but they were still pretty tasty. What was mainly great about it was the crunch crusts. I really like a bit of crispiness to the french toast and french bread was great for covering that section.
I think I’d still use normal bread over french bread mainly because french bread tastes great by itself already and I could definitely snack off of it just toasted whereas with a normal loaf of bread I’d have to use it for a sandwich or add something to it to make it taste better.blog comments powered by Disqus
