Spring Break Continues
Sunday, March 25, 2012. Attended the Real Escape Game in San Francisco then Mitsuwa in San Jose.
Spent the day with Jacky, Josephine, Alex, and Mindy.
We looked for something to eat for breakfast and were drawn in by the Taiyaki! Jacky and I have never had one before, so it was meant to be!
All of us got the red bean filled one!
It was interesting watching him make it!
Yummm! Almost finished!
Enjoying our taiyaki!
Basically it was like a filled waffle. Delicious.
Red bean filling! Wish there was more of it.
Jacky got dango also!
Here’s the poster for the event. Click here to read more about the game.
The Escape Game was held in New People.
The line went down the stairwell. Uncomfortable waiting in the middle of a staircase.
No photos beyond this point because they didn’t allow anyone to take any pictures. About the game though, it was a lot better than I expected. Since this was their debut in the US, I wasn’t really expecting much, especially since we were basically just stuck in this big room with everyone else—and spent most of the time at our table. The game was very well thought out though, and it was very intense! Although we thought we almost solved the entire game, after the announcer went over the solution, we were no where near it. Maybe next time! The game lasted about 2 hours.
Lunch at Andersen’s Bakery. Pretty much the only lunch place that had reasonable prices. The sandwiches were actually really good!
Jacky had creme brulee for lunch. Yes lunch. He loves his sweets I suppose.
Mindy got pesto bread.
Josephine and Alex got the soup and sandwich combo as well.
Strolled around Daiso. So many plates I wanted to buy, but it would be inconvenient since I didn’t even have a permanent place yet.
The ride to San Jose from San Francisco was pretty dead since everyone pretty much fell asleep (except for the driver of course!). Mitsuwa Marketplace and the bookstore. It went by pretty fast since everyone was pretty tired, didn’t find what they were hoping for, and plus I was feeling very sick.
So sick, I couldn’t even bare eating this delicious bowl of ramen.
I really wanted to keep everything energized, but I was just feeling too dizzy, so I just stayed quiet.
After getting back to my apartment though, I felt a lot better. I guess I just felt much more relaxed…or maybe it was that extremely strong and spicy ginger candy I ate. Probably a combination of both. Either way, I really enjoyed this part of the day. Very chill and relaxing. Quality time with my friends.
Josephine and Mindy drawing.
Got to use Josephine’s fountain pens! Felt so fancy while drawing!
Then everyone had to go back home since it was getting late and Alex had school tomorrow as well. So sad we couldn’t have spent more time together. I guess it’ll have to wait until summer.blog comments powered by Disqus
