HRD Coffee Shop

Friday, March 30, 2012. I would classify this restaurant as Korean Fast Food with excellent service!

The title is “Names can be deceiving” because although the name suggests a coffee house, this place was all about korean food!

To beat the lines, we headed there around 11AM. We heard about this place from that Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives show. Ordered the two most popular items on the menu, the Kim Chi Burrito and Mongolian Cheesesteak Sandwich.

11:27AM

11:40AM

Mongolian Cheesesteak Sandwich with Fries. The hoisin sauce in the sandwich really worked well and was something I’ve never tasted in a sandwich before. I love the uniqueness of the items on the menu. The meat was very thinly sliced and cooked to perfection. The texture was perfect and just a very tasty sandwich! Fries were nice and crispy!

Kim Chi Burrito. It looks spicy, but it’s only a perfect kick of spiciness! I couldn’t make out all the ingredients, but basically kim chi fried rice and some typical ban chan items all in a burrito! The rice was nice and warm while the picked items of ban chan were cold. I just loved the burrito!

Let me take this time to talk about their service. They were extremely nice to everyone even though there was a long line building up. Now I don’t mean they weren’t working fast, because they were all very active and energetic! The owner was actually the one who served us our food, handed us napkins, and even moved the hot sauce bottle closer to us. All of which we were supposedly able to do ourselves, but he just went ahead to. They even made the effort to go around checking to see how everyone was doing. It was just great since this was one of those places where usually is all about self-service and just pick your food and find a seat. This place definitely stands out amongst others and I just had such a great time eating here! Not many seats available, but most people just get their food to go anyways.

Oh, and the prices are very reasonable as well! Only around $8 and trust me, it is very filling. My sister and I shared the two dishes and I was so stuffed just after eating half of each.

Found in the SOMA District of San Francisco, CA, this place is a definite MUST.
I highly recommend this place!
