The Night Market

Saturday, August 4, 2012. A moveable feast event in San Jose. Lots of food trucks and people!
8:03PM

Red Lanterns
Upon entering, I was awed by the red lanterns hanging around the entire place.
I really wanted to try the KoJa Kitchen food truck, but of course it’d be the truck with the longest line. Since Vince and my sister were getting food from the Curry Up Now truck, which had no line at all, I decided to get food from there too, because by the time everyone would get their food, they’d be more than done and ready to go before I even get to the front of the line. I was craving Indian food anyways! I’ll get the popular KoJa Kitchen food at another event—preferably one that’s less populated, because who likes waiting in long lines?

My sister and I
Randomly, a lady asked us if we were all a large group together and if we wanted a pagoda (basically special seating under a tent with a dining table and lights). We thought we had to pay at first, but it turned out she was offering it to us for free! It was our lucky day! Pretty awesome although it did feel weird sitting at a dining table while everyone around us was basically sitting on buckets in the dark.

Curry Up Now
I got the Paneer Tikka Masala. I was sad the paneer didn’t have that much flavor at all so it ended up being like tofu, but I was still very satisfied with the entire burrito. Had a really great time! The setting was really nice, but I think for food trucks, I’d rather go to one less crowded just so I could go around buying small bites just to try multiple trucks. Still great getting out of the apartment on the beautiful day though! Thanks Vince for picking me up and dropping me off!
